Kona burglaries, thefts (Aug. 17-23)

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers Aug. 17-23.

BURGLARIES

Between Aug. 13 and Aug. 19, a reported burglary at the Cantor Brothers Baseyard. U.S. Currency taken.

On Aug. 20, a reported burglary in the 5100 block of Kanai Place. A female reported her husband came into her house without permission and took school supplies.

Between Aug. 19 and Aug. 21, a reported burglary in the 6000 block of Holualoa. An acoustic guitar, coach luggage bag and electronics taken.

UCPV (STOLEN VEHICLE)

On Aug. 17, a reported UCPV at the intersection of Highways 190 and 180. A Red 1992 Toyota 4-Runner bearing Hawaii license plate ZAS511 was taken. Vehicle was parked off of the roadway with a for sale sign on it.

UEMV (THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

On Aug. 21, a reported UEMV at the Nurses Cottage located across the Kona District Court. Male party reported his vehicle was entered and his backpack containing his prescription medication taken.

THEFT

On Aug. 19, a reported theft in the 4100 Block of Alaha Pl., a 50ft garden hose which was spread across the victim’s lawn was taken.

On Aug. 22, a reported theft in the Coconut Groove parking lot. Female reported her purse containing personal items was taken after it was dropped during an affray.
