Police locate Hawaiian Beaches man wanted for various offenses

Police have located a Puna man wanted for assaulting a police officer, domestic abuse, and terroristic threatening. Christopher Gonsalves, M-48, of Hawaiian Beaches, was arrested on 08-11-13, at approx. 5:40 hours, off of Ono Street, Hawaiian Beaches, hiding in a brush area in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision. He is being transported to the Hilo Police Station Cellblock where he will remain pending further investigation.

Also arrested a few minutes earlier on Ono Street, Hawaiian Beaches, was his son Christopher Gonsalves, M-27, for two outstanding warrants and for a burglary that occurred in an apartment complex in Hilo. Gonsalves, M-27, is also being transported to the Hilo Cellblock where we will remain pending further investigation.

Police seek the public’s assistance in located a Hawaiian Beaches man wanted for offenses that occurred Saturday night, August 10, 2013, in Hawaiian Beaches, Pahoa.

Christopher Gonsalves, 48-year-old male, of Hawaiian Beaches, is wanted for domestic abuse, terroristic threatening, and Assaulting a Police Officer. The incident occurred after police received a call and responded to a reported dispute at a Hawaiian Beaches park, after assaulting an officer, Gonsalves fled the area.

Gonsalves is described as being 5’8″ tall, 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Gonsalves is considered dangerous, and anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
