Two die as SUV crashes in Glenwood

Hawaii 24/7 Staff

Two men died Wednesday afternoon after a sport utility vehicle apparently crashed into a power pole and flipped against a tree in Glenwood.

Firefighters had to free the two men from the SUV using hydraulic power tools.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fire crews were alerted at 3:44 p.m. and arrived to find the SUV near 18-4092 North Glenwood Road, pinned against a tree.

Firefighters said the power pole was sheared off and held up by electrical lines. HELCO crews also responded to the scene.

The road was closed while police investigated.
