During the week of August 18, 2013, through August 25, 2013, Hawaiʻi Island police arrested 28 motorists for drunk driving. Seven of the drivers were involved in traffic crashes. So far this year, there have been 820 DUI arrests compared with 907 during the same period last year, a decrease of 9.6 percent.
