Kona burglary, theft reports (June 1-7)

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers June 1-7.

BURGLARIES

On June 2, a reported burglary at Kona Islander Inn. Unknown responsible(s) entered a room and removed a wallet, purse, backpack containing cash and other miscellaneous items.

UCPV (STOLEN VEHICLE)

On June 2, a reported UCPV at Starbucks on Henry Street. A brown 2012 Hyundai Electra automobile bearing Hawaii license plate ZAJ162 was taken from the parking lot. Vehicle was later contacted during a traffic stop in Hilo and recovered.

UEMV (THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

No reported unauthorized entries into motor vehicles this week.

THEFT

On June 2, a reported theft in the 300 block of Mamalahoa Noelani Way. A 29-year-old woman reported her 32-year-old boyfriend took her cell phone without permission.

On June 2, a reported theft at Aloha Mini Mart, a pack of cigars taken.

On June 2, a reported theft in the 1000 block of Konawaena School road, a hat with pins taken.

On June 3, a reported theft in the 5500 Block of Pawai Place, three rims & tires were taken off of a parked vehicle.
