Kona burglary, theft reports (May 18-24)

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers May 18-24.

BURGLARIES

On May 19, a reported burglary at the Nasturtium Cafe, unknown responsible(s) entered but nothing was removed.

On May 23, a reported burglary at the Royal Kona Resort, while sunbathing, a victim’s purse containing cash, room key and two credit cards were taken. Upon returning to her room, the victim realize responsible(s) entered her room and also stole her wallet containing her drivers license and three more credit cards.

No reported stolen vehicle this week

UEMV (THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

No reported thefts from vehicles this week

THEFT

On May 18, a reported theft in the 5200 Block of Mamalahoa Highway (Holualoa area), avocado’s taken without permission.

On May 19, a reported theft at Kona Pacific Farmers Coopertive, a Qsee video surveillance camera that was mounted on a wall was taken.

On May 19, a reported theft at Reyes By The Sea, a 23-year-old man may have forgot his backpack, which was not returned. Backpack contained miscellaneous ID cards, catheter & a .45 caliber “Witness” brand semi automatic pistol.

On May 22, a reported theft in the 5600 block of Kuakini Highway (construction site) a sledge hammer, hand pliers and impact drill were taken.
