Severe 8.0M earthquake in Santa Cruz Islands area, no tsunami threat to Hawaii

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has evaluated the 8.0 magnitude earthquake and has determined that no tsunami threat exists for Hawaii. Tsunami watch and warnings for the South Pacific have now been cancelled.
