Two women shot dead in Hilo Monday (Feb 11)

Police are investigating a reported shooting incident that occurred last night in Hilo that left two women dead. At about 11:20 pm on Monday night, police responded to several calls of gunshots in the 600 block of Leilani Street. Responding officers conducted checks within the residence and discovered two victims with apparent gunshot wounds.

Hakalau woman dies in two car crash in North Kohala Saturday (Feb 9)

A 49-year-old woman from Hakalau was killed Saturday (February 9) from injuries she received in a two-vehicle crash on Akoni Pule Highway at the 17-mile-marker in the North Kohala District. The woman was identified as Theresa Doris Pacheco, of a Hakalau address.
