Kona burglary, theft reports (Feb. 16-23)

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers Feb. 16-23.

BURGLARIES

On Feb. 16, a reported burglary in the 3900 block of Hawaii Belt Road, a black safe containing three handguns, jewelry and U.S. currency taken.

Between Feb. 17 and Feb. 19, a reported burglary in the 5700 block of Kalawa Street, jewelry taken.

On Feb. 17, a reported burglary in the 5700 block of Lamaokeola Street, U.S. currency & marijuana taken. A suspect was arrested in this incident.

On Feb. 19, a reported burglary in the 1100 block of Wainani Place, U.S. currency & electronics taken.

On Feb. 20, a reported burglary in the 1200 Block of Mahilani Dr., an Apple iPad taken.

Between Feb. 17 and Feb. 20, a reported burglary in the 6100 block of Alii Drive, miscellaneous items taken.

UCPV (STOLEN VEHICLE)

On Feb. 19, a reported UCPV on Kawanui Place Vehicle HHX678 removed without permission. Vehicle was returned prior to officers arrival and a suspect was arrested in this incident.

Between Feb. 17 and Feb. 20, a reported UCPV in the 5800 block of Old Government Road. A Black 2010 Sym moped taken, mopeds registration number is H-34258

UEMV(THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

On Feb. 15, a reported UEMV in the 5500 block of Pawai Place, miscellaneous items taken from a bus.

On Feb. 19, a reported UEMV at Triangle Park, U.S. currency taken.

Between Feb. 16 and Feb. 18, a reported UEMV on the 5700 block of Kalawa Street, a Dewalt impact drill taken.

THEFT

On Feb. 15, a reported theft in the 900 block of Manawalea Street, U.S. currency taken.

On Feb. 16, a reported theft at Lulu’s, a black purse w/ contents taken.

On Feb. 16, a reported theft at Bongo Ben’s, male party ordered two steak plate dinners and left without making payment.

On Feb. 16, a reported theft in the 1300 block of Kaiminani Drive, two Diamondback mountain bikes taken from garage.

On Feb. 16, a reported theft at Kuakini McDonalds, U.S. currency taken.

On Feb. 17, a reported theft in the 1100 block of Kaiminani Drive. A Shimano Rod & Reel taken from boat parked on property.

On Feb. 20, a reported theft at Lava Java, U.S. currency taken.

On Feb. 21, a reported theft at Hualalai Garage, four rims & tires taken from a vehicle.
