Skaters rolling in for Cruise Night (Feb. 16)

MEDIA RELEASE

Lanihau Center will host it’s second Cruise Night of the year 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 in its parking lot facing Palani Road.

The event is open to all types of vehicles, from antiques to hot rods, classics, VWs, trucks and bikes.

There is no entry or admission fee and the public is welcome.

Along with dozens of unique vehicles coming and going during the evening, the event will feature the ladies from the Echo City Knockouts roller derby team and members of the West Hawaii Hockey inline skate club.

Both will give demonstrations and have information about their upcoming events.

The hockey team, a non-profit 501-C organization, will be soliciting donations for their team trips to compete on neighbor islands this year.

Door prize giveaways every half hour 6:30-8:30 p.m. will be presented by MC G. Cruz from KWXX radio. Prizes will be provided by Lanihau Center merchants.

At 7:30 p.m. all vehicles are invited to take an escorted slow, loud, lap around the Lanihau parking lots. Mufflers are optional for this crowd-pleasing parade.

A printed 2013 Cruise Night schedule and free auto-themed calendars from event co-sponsor Transmission Technology will be available for all participating car, truck and motorcycle owners.
