A new bank is under construction. A new road has recently been completed. A new Starbucks has opened. These and more provide positive economic signals within Kailua Village Business Improvement District going into 2013.

Construction of the new American Savings Bank by Maryl Development at the vacant corner of Kuakini Highway and Palani Road is well underway with a scheduled completion in May 2013.

The 4,500 square-foot building will include a drive-up window, home loan department and a training facility.

Starbucks has relocated its Palani Road operation to a newly constructed coffee shop at Kuakini Highway and Henry Street. The new location provides a drive-through option for coffee to go.

Queen Liliuokalani Trust added connectivity between the Kona Industrial Area’s Kaiwi Street and Makalapua Business Center’s Loloku Street with the completion of Maa Way.

Isemoto Contracting Co. Ltd was the contractor of record. The road was named to honor Maa who was born in the ahupuaa of Keahuolu. The name was suggested by the Lui family, descendants of Maa.

Hawaii Radiologic Associates Ltd. will boast beautiful views when its building is completed in August at the former site of the Kona Ranch House.

When it relocates from its current Sunset Drive location, HRA’s new facility will offer the latest and greatest in medical imaging. Clever Construction is the building’s contractor.
