Kaumana Drive stabbing victim died from wound to aorta

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday morning (January 8) on the body of the 38-year-old victim of a fatal stabbing in the upper Kaumana Drive area of Hilo.

The preliminary results from the examination showed that the victim, who was identified as Lloyd Rubio of Hilo, died from a stab wound to the abdomen with an injury to the aorta. The medical examiner ruled the death as a homicide. Detectives are awaiting additional toxicological findings.

Cherie Sueko Moskwa, 37, also of Hilo, remains in police custody while detectives continue the investigation.
