Police find body of California man reported missing, last seen in Hilo

Hawaii County police are searching for a 31-year-old California man who was reported missing.

Yogi Yoswara was last seen in Hilo at 9 p.m. on December 19.

He is described as 5-foot-7, 140 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.

According to friends on the mainland, Yoswara was last seen leaving Hilo Backpackers Hostel on the night of Dec. 19, leaving to his cabin rental in Papaaloa.

He never checked out of his cabin, returned the car rental, nor boarded the plane for his scheduled return home.

The car Yoswara rented is a silver Dodge Charger, license plate HMM648, rented from Alamo.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
