The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for East facing shores of the Big Island until 6 p.m. Tuesday (Dec 18).
Surf is forecast to be in the seven to nine foot range and very rough. The high surf will cause large breaking waves creating hazardous conditions in the surf zone including dangerous rip currents.
The wind advisory for the Big Island has been cancelled.
A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday (Dec 16) for all Hawaiian waters.
