Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union’s Market Day, held annually at each of its five branches to celebrate International Credit Union Day, raised $21,138 this year to benefit the West Hawaii Community Health Center.

The Market Day effort focuses on International Credit Union Day and its message, that credit union members are part of a global effort to take the philosophy of people helping people beyond the walls of each credit union and into local communities.

The branches’ Market Day featured fresh produce, baked goods, silent auction items, crafts and ribbon sales.

“Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union would like to thank its members and other island residents who supported Market Day,” said James Takamine, President/CEO of Hawaii Community FCU.

“We are especially thankful for our community partners, such as Cal-Kona Produce, who donated much of the fresh produce for the sale,” he said. “This year’s fundraiser was very successful and it’s gratifying to know these funds, through the good works of the West Hawaii Community Health Center, will benefit our communities.”
