High surf advisory issued for the Big Island this weekend (Dec 8-9)

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for West facing shores of the Big Island from 6 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday (Dec 9).

Surf is forecast to be in the six to eight foot range peaking on Saturday night. The breaking waves will cause hazardous conditions in the surf zone including dangerous rip currents.
