Alumni Football USA games return in early January to the Big Island. The games are an opportunity for high school alumni to play in one more full contact football game while raising money for their old high schools.
The games are as follows:
* Hilo Alumni vs. Waiakea Alumni – 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan 4 at Wong Stadium
Team Meeting: 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov 3 at Keaukaha Park
* Kealakehe Alumni vs. Konawaena Alumni – 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan 5 at Kealakehe Stadium
Team Meeting: 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov 3 at Old Kona Airport
* Honokaa Alumni vs. Kohala Alumni – 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan 6 at Honokaa High School
Team Meeting: 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov 3 at Honokaa Complex (Oval)
* Keaau Alumni vs. Hawaii Preparatory Academy Alumni – TBA
Only the first 40 players to sign up for each team will get to play. There is no registration fee, but there is a $100 fee to play.
The fee includes everything for game day: Alumni Football USA organizes and coordinates the games, rental of professional helmet, pads and equipment, game day EMTs, officials, announcers, field liability insurance, DVD of your game and commemorative T-shirt.
