Walk for Vision and Hearing (Sept. 30)

The West Hawaii Lions Clubs consisting of the Hamakua, Waimea, Waikoloa, Kohala, Kaloko Branch, Kailua Kona, and Lions Club of Kona will be holding a charity walk- Walk for Vision and Hearing” to benefit the Hawaii Lions Foundation.

The Hawaii Lions Foundation, is the non-profit arm of Hawaii Lions. One of their programs, includes the “Uninsured/Underinsured” hearing and vision program for Hawaii school children.

Monies raised from the charity walk remains in Hawaii to help fund their initiatives, including the continued hearing and vision screening in public schools statewide.

The “Walk for Vision and Hearing” charity walk to be held in Kailua-Kona will also be held in Honolulu by other Lions Clubs.

The walk is Sunday, Sept. 30 and will begin in the Huggo’s parking lot on Alii Drive, to Makaeo Pavillion, at the Old Kona Airport.

A light lunch will be provided at Makae’o Pavillion for all walk participants. The tax deductible donation to join the charity walk is $35 and includes the light lunch, and an event T-shirt.

Applications are available from any Lions Clubs members, or by contacting Hawaii Lions Foundation Trustee Lion Bob Lovin at 969-7966.

Corporate teams and/or corporate donations are also being accepted for this charitable cause.
