Construction at Kealakehe Recycling & Transfer Station progressing

MEDIA RELEASE

Kealakehe Recycling and Transfer Station is currently under construction upgrade.

The project will improve user access and traffic flow through the site. It includes recessed recycling bins, new pavement and traffic flow, upgraded drainage features, landscaping, a new residential green waste drop-off chute, and a new reuse facility.

The recycling and transfer station will remain open throughout construction.

Due to limited space while performing the construction work, the site will be more congested than usual causing users to experience some brief delays.

The county asks users to be patient during this time as crews complete the transfer station upgrade.

The construction project is on schedule for completion in February 2013.
