Police charge Hilo man with burglary, theft and firearms violations

Hawaii Police Department charged a Hilo man in connection with an investigation into burglaries, as well as the possession of a firearm. Kawika Larinaga-Napihaa, 22 years-old, of Hilo, was charged with two counts of Burglary first degree, two counts of Theft in the second degree, and two firearms charges. Larinaga-Napihaa’s bail set at $96,000.

Larinaga-Napihaa was initially arrested in a business parking lot off of Makaala Street in Hilo on Thursday, September 12, 2012 at approximately 2:30 pm along with two other suspects after it was discovered that they were in possession of a firearm within a vehicle. A second firearm, reportedly stolen in a Hilo burglary, was also recovered from the vehicle, along with a laptop stolen in a Kona burglary.
