Barry Wallace, executive vice president, hospitality services, has announced two changes in the company’s Corporate Marketing Services department with the addition of Carolyn Murren as advertising manager and the promotion of Kathy Hansberry to public relations and promotions manager.

As advertising manager, Murren serves as liaison between Outrigger and the company’s external advertising agency partner for traditional media.

In addition, she is responsible for coordinating media ad placements and ensuring adherence to the company’s creative brand standards.

Murren joins Outrigger with nearly 20 years of experience working for marketing/advertising agencies in Honolulu. Most recently she was account manager and interactive supervisor for 4Front Branding ad agency.

Prior to that, web project manager for Communications Pacific and vice president/co-owner of Joots Inc.

Murren graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science. She is an Advisory Board Member of the American Advertising Federation of Hawaii.

In her new role as public relations and promotions manager, Kathy Hansberry is responsible for various aspects of the public relations and promotions department.

Content management for the online pressroom, corporate sports sponsorships, media monitoring services and news releases are highlights of her expanded role. Hansberry joined Outrigger as a public relations coordinator in 2005.

Prior to Outrigger, she gained valuable work experience from various distinguished companies including Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Benefit Services of Hawaii and Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.

Within Outrigger, Hansberry shares her talents as vice president of public relations for the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Toastmasters Club. Hansberry earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
