A 31-year-old Kailua-Kona man wanted for allegedly escaping from a correctional facility was arrested in West Hawaiʻi.
Ryan Jeffries-Hamar was located and arrested Saturday (September 8) in Kealakekua near the intersection of Highway 11 and Halekii Street. He is suspected of escaping from Hale Nani off Route 11 Tuesday afternoon (August 14).
Jeffries-Hamar also had an outstanding arrest warrant for violation of terms and conditions of furlough that he was arrested for.
At 6:00 p.m. Sunday (September 9), detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigation Section charged Ryan James Jeffries-Hamar with escape in the second degree. Bail was set at $10,000. There was no bail set by the courts for the arrest warrant.
He is being held at the Kona police cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Monday (September 10).
