Hawaii Health Connector releases RFP for communication

MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii Health Connector is seeking proposals from qualified bidders to provide professional communication services to promote the online health insurance marketplace currently under development.

The request for proposal (RFP) contains three components—market research, communication strategy and public relations. The Connector is looking to grow awareness of the online marketplace as the premier source of health insurance information, where consumers and small businesses will be able to efficiently and carefully consider the health benefits and choices available in Hawaii.

Interested companies can download the RFP and find information about the Connector’s activities at: www.hawaiihealthconnector.com/Public_Notices.html

Public notices about the RFP will run in the daily papers for all islands.

Questions about the RFP should be directed to Kathy Mitchell via email: Kathy@hawaiihealthconnector.com

The Hawaii Health Connector is the online health insurance exchange for Hawaii. The Connector was established as a non-profit organization in 2011 by the state legislature through Act 205, in order to comply with the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010.

The Connector’s aim is an online marketplace that is of-Hawaii-for-Hawaii, one that takes into account the State’s unique culture and works with the Prepaid Health Care Act, an employer mandate for health insurance coverage in effect since 1974.
