Zippy’s to open Hilo restaurant

Zippy’s has plans to open a restaurant in Hilo at Prince Kuhio Plaza.

According to the restaurant chain’s Facebook page, the eatery will open in the summer of 2013.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to serve Hilo and to provide its residents with all of their Zippy’s favorites. We also look forward to joining and supporting the community by offering employment opportunities and supporting Hilo’s businesses and organizations,” Zippy’s President Paul Yokota said.

Zippy’s Hilo will feature a fast-food counter, a dine-in restaurant, and a Napoleon’s Bakery including its hot and fresh operation, specializing in ‘made-to-order’ malasadas.

Zippy’s also is known to feature locally grown beef in its menu items.
