Celebrating the eighth year hosting this event, the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce is proud to offer the “best and the brightest” in home building, remodeling, mortgage lending, insurance, landscaping, and everything in between.

Nowhere else on Hawaii Island will you find such a wide variety of products and services located under one roof. Homeowners and renters alike can find what they’re looking for – and lots of surprises as well.

A special Friday night reception from 5 – 8 p.m. On Friday evening, attendees will enjoy a special treat with musical performance by Joe Conti from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Master of the 12-string MIDI Warr Guitar, Conti’s “Stick” can blend the single notes or chords of a piano with the string bending and slides of a guitar.

A no-host bar will be open from 5 – 7:30 p.m. for all attendees.

New this year, a grand prize drawing, consisting of products and services offered by the participating vendors. Valued at more than $3,000, this monster giveaway will go to a lucky expo attendee.

The drawing will take place at the close of the expo on Sunday; however you do not have to be present to win.

A tropical plant sale will also be offered again this year.

Building & Design Expo attendees can visit the RevoluSun booth and work one-on-one with a trained solar project developer to zoom in on their home with satellite imagery and determine the optimal solar system for their specific home, location and energy needs.

“Expo visitors can come to the RevoluSun booth and quickly understand their home’s potential for solar savings,” said Eric Carlson, RevoluSun principal. “In just a few seconds, we’ll use our interactive software — RiSE — to design a customized solar system right at the show. This provides a homeowner immediate feedback on the solar power potential of their home.”

With Hawaii’s generous tax credits, coupled with federal incentives from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, homeowners can save 65 percent payback on a solar system while lowering or virtually eliminating what they pay for electricity.

“Now is the best time for Hawaii homeowners to go solar,” Carlson said. “RevoluSun has become the number-one residential solar installer by using our design and financing know-how, and our unwavering focus on our customers’ needs. We want to provide homeowners a clear understanding of their options, and a stress-free road to building a cleaner, smarter, solar Hawaii for decades to come.”

With today’s solar, systems have a performance warranty for 25 years but expected to last 40 years or more. At current electricity prices, a solar system pays for itself within six to nine years depending on market conditions.

For a typical Hawaii homeowner, every week without a solar system can be worth $50 or more in electricity costs that would otherwise be provided by the sun.

Hawaii-owned RevoluSun provides the highest quality of service, technology and design in renewable energy. With its extensive network of alternative energy partners and detailed knowledge of federal and state tax incentives, RevoluSun makes renewable solar energy an affordable, attractive option for both homeowners and businesses across the United States.
