Crews continue to monitor the 60 acre smoldering brushfire in Ka‘u

Hawaii County firefighters along with a National Park crew are continuing to monitor a smoldering brushfire along with hotspots in a ravine and Macadamia Nut orchard in Ka‘u Monday (July 16).

About 60 acres have burned on the Mauna Loa Macadamia nut property since Friday (July 13).

Most of the burn area has been confined to brush and trees in a deep ravine.
