The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for the South facing shores of all Hawaiian islands through Thursday (July 5).
Surf is forecast to be in the five to eight foot range with heights peaking tonight.
Oceangoers should use caution due to dangerous rip currents and localized beach erosion from the wave action.
There is a small craft advisory for Maalaea Bay, Pailolo and Alenuihaha Channels, Big Island Leeward and Southeast waters until 6 p.m. Friday (July 6).
