Barbe named director of operations for dck pacific

Honolulu-based dck pacific construction, LLC has announced Chris C. Barbe will become the new Director of Operations, effective July 1. Barbe will be responsible for overseeing project operations in Hawaii.

As Director of Project Support, Barbe provided estimating and operations assistance for federal and commercial projects including the GTA at Schofield Barracks, MCAS Command Operations Pacific, Naval Hospital and Navy Family Housing projects at Guantanamo Bay, the School of Infantry East Facilities project at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Yuma MCAS Infrastructure and Hangar project, and the Hilton Kingsland in Waikoloa.

“Chris has more than 15 years of construction experience and has previously worked on multimillion-dollar projects in Hawaii,” said Eric Tessem, dck pacific Senior Vice President and General Manager. “His talents are a wonderful addition to dck pacific, which, as a leader in the industry, is committed to providing innovative building solutions. Our project teams welcome the leadership he will bring to our organization.”

Prior to joining dck, Barbe also served as Project Engineer for the expansion and remodeling of the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island and as Project Manager for the piping and equipment erection at the Hamakua Power Plant on the Big Island.

Barbe earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering management from Montana Tech of the University of Montana. He is relocating from Bozeman, Mont., with his family for his new position.
