Firefighters were still on the scene at the Pahala brushfires Saturday (June 23).
The 400 acre ‘Cane Haul Road’ fire above Pahala town is 95 percent contained and firefighers are extinguishing hot spots while maintaining the perimeter around the fire area.
The larger brushfire area makai of Highway 11 is 60 percent contained. Firefighters are extinguishing hot spots while monitoring and maintaining the perimeter around fire breaks. Most of the efforts of containment are on the Northern and Southern flanks of the fire area which consists of Macadamia Nut trees and pastureland.
There are no reports of roadblocks or detours in the area.
