High surf advisory and small craft advisory in effect

By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for East facing shores of the Big Island until 6 p.m. this evening. Surf is forecast to be six to eight feet in height peaking today and declining tonight.

Rough and choppy surf will make for hazardous conditions along the shoreline and dangerous rip currents in the ocean.

A small craft advisory is in effect for all Hawaiian waters and channels until 6 p.m. this evening.
