The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for Big Island South, North and East facing shores until 6 p.m. Tuesday (June 19).
Surf is forecast to be six to eight feet in height through Tuesday. The rough and choppy surf will make for hazardous conditions along exposed shorelines. Swimmers and beachgoers should use caution due to rip currents and localized beach erosion.
