A 51-year-old Kona man was arrested Wednesday (May 30) in connection with threatening comments made about a Big Island hospital.
Kona Patrol Officers responded to a call from Kona Community Hospital at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a report that a man had made phone calls threatening to “shoot up†the hospital.
Police contacted Philip Couch at his home in the White Sands area off Ali‘i Drive and arrested him at 12:40 p.m. on suspicion of disorderly conduct for causing alarm at the hospital. He was released about an hour later pending further investigation.
