High surf advisory issued for East facing shores of the Big Island

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for East facing shores of the Big Islnad until 6 p.m. Tuesday (May 29).

Surf is forecast to be in the six to eight foot range on Big Island North and East shores. The rough surf will create dangerous, strong rip currents and localized beach erosion.

A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday for all Hawaiian waters.
