Baseball: Hilo, Waiakea, Kamehameha still alive

Wednesday was a good day for Big Island teams at the state baseball tournament on Oahu.

In Division I, No. 3 seed Waiakea and unseeded Hilo are into the semi-finals. On Thursday, Waiakea faces unseeded Pearl City and Hilo takes on No. 4 Baldwin.

In Division II semi-finals Thursday, No. 4 seed Kamehameha Schools Hawaii plays No. 1 Waimea.

Konawaena, which was unseeded in Division II, lost 6-0 to No. 2 Waipahu. Konawaena now moves into the consolation bracket and faces Seabury Hall for a chance at fifth place.
