MEDIA RELEASE

Retired Waikoloa financial professionals, Herb Soloway and Larry Bryan, visited the Parker School campus on April 5 to share their knowledge and financial tips with the Junior and Senior classes as part of Parker School’s Speaker Series.

Soloway spent most of his professional career in the furniture industry before joining Edwards Jones to develop seminars to help people plan for the future.

Bryan worked in Saudi Arabia in the oil industry for 25 years before retiring and managing his investments.

The pair spoke to the students about the importance of budgeting, goal setting, savings, investing and the impact debt plays on personal finances.

Students left the presentation with a better understanding of how to maximize their personal financial situation as they plan for college and life beyond Parker School.

The speaker series, started by Rea Callender, in September of 2005, has served as an excellent professional development opportunity for Parker students; bringing many well known artists, scientists, businessman and entrepreneurs to the school’s stage to share their stories of success, determination, dedication and the importance of following one’s dream.
