UH-Hilo’s Morihiro tied for second at Sonoma State Invitational golf tournament

Erika Morihiro is tied for second place at the Sonoma State Women’s Spring Invitational on the Foxtail Country Club in Rohnert Park, Calif.

The freshman turned in a two-over-par 74 and trails tournament leader Megan Birdsey of Newman University by a stroke.

Tied for 18th place at 8-over-par 80 are Kristen Sawada and Nyssa Aoki while Dayna Bersamin and Kacie Harada are tied for 31st place at 11-over-par 83.

British Columbia leads the team race with a 308 followed by Newman and Sonoma State (314), Grand Canyon (315), Central Oklahoma and Hawaii Hilo (317), Cal State Monterey Bay (320), Cal State East Bay (324) and Dominican (408).
