Heavy equipment and military convoys traveling from Kawaihae to PTA

HEAVY CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT

PŌHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, Hawaii— Contractors will haul heavy construction equipment from Kawaihae Harbor to Pōhakuloa Training Area from April 6 – 13 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day. The trucks will travel via Kawaihae Road, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road, Mamalahoa Highway and Saddle Road. The trucks will not have Hawaii Police Department escorts but will have escort vehicles front and rear. Motorists are advised to be alert and drive with care.

The PTA Department of Army police are working closely with local authorities and military units to coordinate this activity in support of unit training.

MILITARY CONVOYS

PŌHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, Hawaii— Oahu-based military units will convoy from Kawaihae Harbor to Pōhakuloa Training Area on April 6, April 8 – 10, April 12 and April 14 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day.
The convoys will travel via Kawaihae Road, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road, Mamalahoa Highway and Saddle Road.
The trucks will not have Hawaii Police Department escorts but will have escort vehicles front and rear. Motorists are advised to be alert and drive with care.
