Wind advisory in effect for Big Island summits until Wednesday (March 28)

By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a wind advisory for the summits of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea until 6 a.m. Wednesday (March 28).

Winds above the 8,000 foot level are forecast to be 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph through tonight.

The strong winds will make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Motorists should use extra caution when driving on summit roadways.
