Feeding the Hungry Program marks first anniversary

The feeding program at the Hale Halawai Park will mark it’s first anniversary on Monday, March 19 and welcomes the public to participate and enjoy a meal and some entertainment.

This program is a joint effort of the University of the Nations, The Food Basket, The Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry’s Meet and Eat Program and the County of Hawaii Parks and Recreation.

The program has provided more than 4,500 meals during the last 12 months and continues to grow along with the needs of the community. Preparation of the meals and most of the volunteers are part of the University of the Nations family.

The program is 4:30-5:30 p.m. and entertainment will be by Lea Lea Na Opio.
