Kona Town Meeting: Helping the community (March 13)

UPDATE: The meeting location has changed. Kona Town Meeting will now meet at Kekuaokalani Gym.

MEDIA RELEASE

Who can the less fortunate citizens in our community turn to for help with their families and difficult living circumstances? Who takes care of abandoned animals?

Kailua-Kona has a number of wonderful organizations who provide a safety net for those in need during difficult times.

Come learn how these organizations perform their invaluable tasks to help people and how you can support their critical missions.

Guest speakers include:

* Gretchen Lawson, president of Arc of Kona
* Ann Goody, director – Curator of Three Ring Ranch
* Linda Spencer, community director of Catholic Charities
* Cathy Swedelius, president of AdvoCATS
* Ray Wofford, associate director of Family Support Services of West Hawaii

Councilmember Brenda Ford will provide a County Council update.

Bring your questions to the 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 meeting at Kekuaokalani Gym (location changed on 3/13/12).
