Wind advisory in effect for Big Island until Monday evening (March 12)

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a wind advisory for South Point, Pahala, Hilo, Volcano, Honokaa, Kamuela and Waikoloa on the Big Island until 6 p.m. Monday (March 12).

Northeast winds of 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are forecast. Winds this strong can bring down tree branches and make driving difficult for high profile vehicles.
