High surf warning for East facing shores of the Big Island

By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issue a high surf warning for East facing shores of the Big Island until 6 a.m. Tuesday (March 7).

Surf is forecast to be in the 10 to 15 foot range from a large North-Northwest swell.

Swimmers and beachgoers should use caution due to rough surf, dangerous rip currents and battering waves on shoreline areas.

A small craft advisory is also in effect for windward waters of the Big Island and the Alenuihaha Channel.
