POLICE MEDIA RELEASE (10:59 p.m. 2/21/12)

Due to a one car traffic accident in which the vehicle struck a HELCO utility pole fronting 2133 Kinoole Street, Hilo (which is located between Kawailani and Kahaopea Street), roadway is closed for undetermined period of time as HELCO crews replace the damaged pole and fix the lines. Motorist are being informed to avoid this area and take appropriate alternate routes.

Police reported at 6:14 a.m. that Kinoole was re-opened to traffic.
