HPA into girls state soccer finals

HPA and Mid-Pacific play for the girls Division II state soccer crown 5 p.m. Saturday on Oahu.

No. 3 seed HPA secured the spot in the final by beating No. 2 seed Kauai, 3-1, on Friday.

Nanea Tavares, Bri Vallente and Vallente scored for HPA.

In Division I, No. 1 seed Kamehameha Schools Kapalama and Iolani will square off for the title.

In the Division I consolation bracket, Kealakehe and Baldwin will place to 5th and 6th place.

Also, Konawaena faces Kapolei for 7th place.

In the Division II consolation bracket, Kamehameha Schools Hawaii and Honokaa face off for 7th and 8th place.

Also Friday, Makua Lani was dumped out of the competition by Kalaheo, 2-0.
