Hawaii 24/7 Staff
The Hawaii State Teachers Association members are set to vote Thursday, Jan. 19 to ratify a new 6-year contract that includes a back-loaded pay raise and 50 percent contribution to medical insurance coverage seen in other state contracts.
In addition, the teachers union has scheduled an informational meeting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the Hawaii Convention Center on Oahu.
According to a message on its Facebook page, teachers on the neighbor islands can watch a live webcast” of the meeting on the HSTA web page.
