The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the High Surf Advisory for the Kona coast until 6 a.m. Saturday (Jan 14).
Surf is forecast to be five to eight feet along West facing shores of Kona. Beachgoers and swimmers should use caution due to large breaking waves, strong rip currents and wave run-up along low-lying beaches.
