Big Island lane closures for the week of Jan. 9–13, 2012

PLEASE NOTE:
Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) LAUPAHOEHOE TO NINOLE
Intermittent single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between Stevens Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway on Tuesday, January 9, through Friday, January 13, From 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily, for slope stabilization work and road resurfacing.

2) PAAUILO
Alternating single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between Pohakea Road and Maunakea Ranch Road (vicinity of Milepost 35) on Tuesday, January 9, through Friday, January 13, From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for guardrail installation and pavement marking.

3) HONOKAA (CONTINUOUS)
24-hour single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in alternating directions between Kapuna Road and Pikake Street (vicinity of Milepost 44), for road reconstruction work. A temporary traffic signal will be placed in the area to control traffic around the work site.

— MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KALAOA
Alternating lane closures on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190), in both directions between Old Kona Village Road and Huehue Ranch Road (the vicinity of Mileposts 27 to 31) on Tuesday, January 9, through Friday, January 13, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, daily, for guardrail installation and pavement striping work.

— HAMAKUA —

1) PAAUILO-KALOPA
Manienie Gulch Bridge on Pohakea Mauka Road in the Paauilo-Kalopa area in Hamakua will undergo repairs, replacing wooden planks, and bridge railings beginning Monday, Jan. 9 to Friday, Jan. 13, weather permitting.

Motorists may experience delays up to 15 minutes between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Department of Public Works appreciates your cooperation and advises you to drive with caution and obey all traffic regulations when driving in this area.
