Waimea Elementary thrift shop sale benefits keiki

MEDIA RELEASE

Tucked away in the back of Waimea Elementary School’s campus – near the post office entry to the school yard – is a Thrift Shop that benefits Waimea families and the community in two ways – first by providing great prices on “gently used” and sometimes new clothing and household items, and secondly, by contributing all proceeds earned by the crew of volunteers to the elementary school to support student learning.

This thrift shop will hold an After-Christmas clearance sale 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 and Wednesday, Jan. 4 and continuing 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 7.

Customers are invited to fill a bag with gently used clothing for $3.

The shop will continue its current hours come 2012 — 1-3 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays.

To reach the shop, it’s best to park in the gravel lot behind the post office and enter the campus through the back gate.

Though full at the moment, donations are always welcome and should be dropped off during shop hours. Tax deductible receipts will be provided to contributors.

Volunteers are also needed; training will be provided.
