High Surf Advisory for South, North and East portions of the Big Island

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the current High Surf Advisory for the South, North and East facing areas of the Big Island until 7 a.m. Saturday (Dec 24).

Surf is forecast to be in the five to eight foot range with surf remaining high through Friday.

Beachgoers and swimmers are advised that the high surf can cause dangerous rip currents.

A Gale Warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday (Dec 22) for Pailolo and Alenuihaha Channels. A Small Craft Advisory will then be in effect until 6 a.m. Friday for Big Island Windward, Leeward and Southeast waters.
