Early morning skywatchers in Hawaii were treated to a beautiful total lunar eclipse overhead Saturday (Dec 10).
Cloud cover over the Big Island may have prevented many lunar eclipse watchers from seeing the event or gave them glimpses of the eclipse when clouds did part.
The Mauna Kea Visitor Information Station at 9,300 was well above the cloud cover and had most people arriving after the start of the partial eclipse at 1:33 a.m. with the thermometer at the station read 30ºF and a brisk cold breeze made for chilly conditions for visitors.

Great photos Baron! Actually your site is the only way I learned the eclipse was to happen. Went camping with a bunch of kids in HVNP and we were up to see it too!
Thanks again for always posting such helpful and timely information.
